Bridge de-silting

The design of bridges very often creates a silt trap and means that the underneath of bridges fills with silt and loses valuable capacity, meaning that during heavy flows, water backs up and can cause flooding.

It is critical to ensure that under bridge capacity is retained, as these structures often become the choke point during flooding events. There are a number of methods including jetting, manual removal and vacuum suctioning that can be used to increase the capacity under the bridge.

AquaServe UK’s years of experience, specialist knowledge of the regulations and being confined space trained, enables them to provide a seamless service from identifying the works, obtaining the appropriate permits to removal and disposal of the silt to maximise the capacity under bridges.
