Culverts and guards are critical infrastructure on most waterways but are at significant risk of blocking, often causing local flooding. AquaServe UK provide a clearance service whether blocked by sediment, tree/green waste, fly tipping and litter or other obstructions.
These clearances can be undertaken as a standalone service, however for some customers, especially Councils and Highways, they prefer the benefits of a regular inspection and clearance program throughout the year or a bespoke package to visit when there is significant rain forecast, to ensure that they are best prepared to cope with heavy flows.
The design of a culvert guard can make a significant difference to how readily it blocks, and AquaServe UK have been able to replace guards with better designs to reduce blockages or make blockages easier to clear. In some circumstances following a bespoke risk assessment some have been able to be removed completely.
